Just add a tablespoon of any brand of baking soda to your favorite shampoo and rinse the residue down your drain. Once a week should be all that it takes to keep your hair fresh and clean.

Make sure that you get enough sleep during the course of the week for the sake of your hair and scalp. Sleep is vital as it allows your body to recharge and flush out the toxins that you accumulate as the day wears on. Aim for at least eight hours of sleep for strong hair.

You can loosen and remove dirt, dead skin and other debris as you massage your hair and scalp with conditioner instead. It may take a period of transition for the routine to begin showing full benefits, but it is worth a try for those with very dry hair and skin.

In a pinch, use the sunscreen lotion you have for your skin, because it'll keep your hair safe, as well.

Never brush your hair when it is wet. Brushing wet hair is one sure-fire way to cause excessive breakage and induce split ends. It is much better to use a wide toothed comb to detangle your delicate wet hair. Save the brush for when your hair is completely dry.

People whose hair is naturally frizzy or coarse need to use a good moisturizing mask product more frequently than others. In general, such products should be applied every two to four weeks. Those with frizzy hair that is susceptible to drying out will want to apply a mask every week to keep their hair smooth and moisturized.

Although styling your hair a certain way is optional, you should remember to keep your hair clean and healthy. Don't destroy your hair with chemicals, dyes, processing or other harmful practices. Treat your hair well and it will have a healthy shine that you are sure to notice right away!
